Google and other search engines will allow you to pay to have ads displayed on the first page of their search results. The ad will have a clickable link which will usually take a visitor to a 'landing page' on your website, where they will find more detail of the product that you are promoting. From there, if they are happy with what they see, they can click through to the sales page of the product, and hopefully (for you) make a purchase. It's called Pay Per Click Advertising ...and, unlike most other forms of advertising, you don't have to pay a flat fee or rental to place your ad, you simply pay an agreed amount every time that someone clicks on your ad ! The way it works is that you present Google, or Yahoo, or Bing with a list of your keywords. Your keywords are the words or phrases that your prospective customers are likely to use when searching for a product or service like yours - they allow you to target your ads to the desired audience. |

The idea is that when someone types one of your keywords into their search box your ppc ad will be displayed on the first page of search results. For Google Adwords, the precise position of your pay per click ad on the page, or indeed whether it appears at all, is determined by its Ad Rank; and its Ad Rank is based on your keyword's Quality Score and your CPC (cost-per-click) bid. Your CPC bids reflect the amount you're willing to pay each time someone clicks on your ad, when it appears on the search engine's results page. In general, a higher bid will allow your ppc ad to show at a higher position on the page. Quality Score is a measure of how 'relevant' your ppc ad, keyword, or webpage is. Google rate this factor very highly, because the Adwords system is designed to match their users' needs as closely as possible to the most relevant ads - that is after all one of their missions in life. Quality Scores help ensure that only the most relevant pay per click ads appear to users on Google and the Google Network. Your Quality Score is an important factor in determining the amount that you 'll pay when someone clicks on your keyword-targeted ppc ad - the higher your Quality Score the less you'll pay Google for a given ad position and vice versa ! It is of course very important to you that people who click on your link have a genuine interest in what it is that you are trying to sell - after all its gonna cost you a lot of dosh if you get loads of clicks but no sales !It's absolutely essential therefore that you choose keywords which are relevant to the product that you are promoting - for it will not help you if your ppc ads are displayed when someone types in a keyword or keyword phrase which has little relevance to your campaign. By creating a keyword list that is relevant to the content of your webpages, and to the product you are selling, you will ensure that your pay per click ads are shown to people who are most likely to be interested in what you have to offer. In other words, well-chosen keywords will allow you to target your ppc ads to the desired audience ! |

Incidentally,
you don't have to create a landing page on your own website for your
pay per click ads
to link to. It also denies you the opportunity of capturing their contact details if you have it in mind to build a list of targeted subscribers from your advertising campaign. Some people actually use pay per click ads for no other reason than to link to an opt in squeeze page, in order to build a list of targeted subscribers - a list that they can use to launch an email marketing campaign when they are ready to do so. |

So what are the key steps when it comes to setting up a successful PPC campaign ?Step 1: You need to find a profitable niche market and you need to find a source of quality products to satisfy the needs of that market; Step2: You need to choose a list of highly relevant and profitable keywords - they need to relate directly to the theme of your ad and the page to which you are directing your prospective customers; Step 3: You need to be able to target the best converting keywords for your type of product by composing killer ppc ads, such as those already raking in huge profits on Google; Step 4: You need to ensure that the landing page to which your visitors are directed when they click on your ad is up to scratch - Google for one will need to be satisfied that the information appearing on that page is going to be useful and relevant to anyone carrying out a search from their search engine website; and Step 5: You need to be able to monitor your performance using a professional tracking and reporting system, which enables you to see at a glance which keywords and which ads are generating sales and which are failing miserably. Each of these steps can be problematic and time-consuming ! For
example, it could easily take you weeks of research to find your niche
market - and when you eventually make your choice, how do you really
know how good a choice it will turn out to be ? And how about finding those killer keywords - that will take you a few more days if you do it manually ! Then you have hours of work creating the ppc ads and landing pages for the various keyword groups you have chosen. And without an automatic tracking system that is both comprehensive and versatile, you are looking at another hour or two each day to stay on top of things ! |

The good news is that there are programs out there which address some or all of these problems ...and if you want to be really successful with your PPC campaigns, then you really do need to check them out ! It simply isn't good enough to take a bunch of keywords handed to you by the creator of some product which looks like it might do well. If you do you will surely fail and lose a small fortune into the bargain ! Make no mistake about it - if you are intent on making your money from PPC advertising, you really do need to get it right, from the outset. Used correctly, Pay Per Click can be a very powerful tool, which can be used to generate huge profits. But, if you screw up then you are heading for costly failure. And costly failure is what so many marketers experience with their PPC campaigns ! So what are these programs that can steer you away from failure and lead you to success with Google Adwords and other PPC advertising campaigns ? Well, we have selected two programs from Brad Callen: 1) Keyword Elite 2.0 once described by the well-known internet marketing pioneer John Reese as one of the most powerful keyword research tools ever created; and 2) Niche Finder released only recently (April 2011) and already receiving rave reviews from (amongst others) the usually hard-to-please members of the Warrior Forum. Both programs will show you high profit, low competition niche markets - and it will show you them ... real fast ! They will show you which keywords are really profitable ... that is to say, which keywords are used by 'buyers' rather than mere 'browsers' - for these are the keywords that you will need to increase your sales ! Keyword Elite 2.0 and Niche Finder will also give you valuable insights into successful Adwords campaigns run by your competitors ... so that you can effectively "borrow" their Adwords marketing strategy ... and use it to create your own profitable ppc campaigns !
